The Weekend

Welcome to the weekend!
I understand the weekend brings a different schedule. Let me challenge you to remain faithful to finding a half hour to focus on truth and prayer. However, if you need to check in at an alternate time for the weekend that is fine. Just make it your goal to complete your half hour each day. Once Monday begins we will begin 10 pm to 10:30 pm again. If you go to bed earlier than 10pm, good for you, go ahead and check in earlier. I am hearing great reports about the truth God is sharing with you and it is so exciting!
"Meanwhile, the saints stand passionately patient, keeping God's commands, staying faithful to Jesus." Rev. 14:12

  1. I read in James Ch. 1 and James 1:13-15 really stood out to me. This is what it says "13 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death."

  2. Read Matthew 1-2, I was praying and when the angel told Joseph not to worry about the fact that Mary was pregnant. He told her that she was pregnant by the Holy Spirit with the Child of God. It just shows me that we really have to trust in the Lord and believe him when he tells us something.

  5. Today I read Romans 2. This chapter starts out talking about judging others. Paul is basically saying that there's no reason to judge others. There's nothing to gain from it, we do the same things they do, and judging others will only make God angrier at you. He continues with "The Law". In this section, he basically asks why we go around and act like we're so spiritual and perfect, when we sin. He then continues to say that keeping the law isn't important if you break it. He's talking to us, not just the Pharisees back then. This is equivalent to God questioning why we go around and pretend to be Christians and act so spiritual if we're just going to disobey him and sin. All we're doing is being hypocritical and making others think that God is lame "God's name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you." [verse 23]. He then goes on to talk about physical circumcision versus spiritual circumcision. When I was little, I didn't know why he was talking about circumcision in the middle of all of this; it didn't make sense. But then, I realized: God doesn't want us to be physically circumcised; he wants us to be spiritually circumcised. In other words, God doesn't want us to obey his laws on the outside and pretend we're Christians, he wants us to be real Christians. You see, the Pharisees back then would get circumcised and follow all the rules and acted like they were perfect. But Paul's saying that they did all of that for no reason, because they all still sin, and they were only doing it physically; they were physically circumcised. He wants us to be circumcised spiritually. He wants us to not be like the Pharisees and pretend we're perfect and only obey His laws. He wants us to obey Him because we love him. Which leads me back to my first question: What can we do to not fall back into our usual lives? How do we become spiritually circumcised and keep it that way? I'm still waiting for your answer.

  6. Tonight I first read Isiah 14. This chapter talks briefly mentions the fall of Lucifer and how he was casted down from heaven. I then went on the read Exodus chapter 3-7. Chapter 3 talks about moses and the burning bush. This is when God tells Moses to go to Egypt to take Israel out of bondage. In chapter 4 God shows gives signs on how what God is going o show to Egyptians and pharaoh, then Moses leaves and goes to Egypt with Aron. In chapter 5 moses and Aron tell pharaoh to let there people go, pharaoh not only refuses but then takes the straw that the Egyptians gathered for the Israelites to make bricks with. In Chapter 7 Aron speaks for moses and he turns his staff into a snake, the Egyptian sorcerers, however do the same thing with their secret magic, and Pharaoh still doesn't believe them. Ten God tells Aron and Moses the stand on the bank of the Nile river and hold Moses e's staff of the water, this then turned the water into blood. The Egyptians could not get clean water from the Nile river any more they had to dig for their water on the banks of the river.
